LOS ANGELES (February 3, 2025) – Acclaimed music producer ZayBans has officially secured his place among the industry’s elite, winning a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, held on February 2, 2025, in Los Angeles, California. His contributions to Doechii’s groundbreaking album, Alligator Bites Never Heal, have been recognized as a defining moment in contemporary hip-hop.
This year’s Grammy Awards were especially meaningful as they supported fire relief efforts and first responders, reinforcing the power of music to inspire change and give back to communities in need.
Just one week prior to his Grammy win, ZayBans returned to his hometown of Richmond, VA to cohost the inaugural 804 Industry Mixer, uniting local musicians, artists, and creatives in a celebration of music and collaboration. The event also made a meaningful impact by donating proceeds to MusiCares, the Recording Academy’s foundation dedicated to supporting the people behind the music.
“Winning a Grammy is a dream come true, but the real win is being able to give back to the communities that shaped me,” said ZayBans. “From Richmond to the Grammys, this journey is proof that when we invest in our local talent and culture, we all win.”
ZayBans received his first Grammy nomination for Sean Paul’s album Scorcha which was nominated for Best Reggae Album at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards in 2023. As ZayBans continues to push boundaries in music production, his Grammy win is not just a personal achievement but a victory for independent creatives and aspiring artists everywhere.
