WASHINGTON (March 18, 2021) - My Cake Theory opens the doors to its first storefront location at 325 7th St SE, Washington, DC on March 25.
In celebration of Women’s History Month, this new fast-casual confectionary nestled in Eastern Market introduces a new way to grab and go. The bakery’s “Flavors to Frills” concept offers a unique build-your-own cupcake experience. Inside, guests can choose their own cupcake flavors, fillings, frostings, and toppings. Indoor and outdoor seating along with a walk-up window and delivery will also be available.
“It’s completely surreal that I’m making women’s history and a legacy for generations to come by opening the first-ever My Cake Theory storefront. I am excited that my daughter will see her mom grow from baking in a tiny apartment in PG County to a bakery on Capitol Hill. Dreams do come true,” said Tiffany Lightfoot, Owner of My Cake Theory.
With more than 10 years styling picturesque life-like edible treats, Tiffany’s Instagram-worthy creations have been commissioned by Twitter and celebrities like MC Lyte. Tiffany is a self-taught, 3D cake artist who first started baking in 2008 after she was inspired by the creativity of Food Network cake artists like Duff Goldman from “Ace of Cakes”. Her inspiration became her reality just last year when she was cast for two national baking shows. After just a few short episodes on CandyLand, Tiffany was eliminated but reappeared a week later on Holiday Wars. Now a Food Network champion and bakery owner, Tiffany celebrates her soft opening with an interactive event, ribbon-cutting, champagne toast, and first look for media and special guests between 12 pm - 1 pm. Following the media hour, My Cake Theory will be open to friends and invited guests beginning at 3:25 pm.
