HOBOKEN, NJ (November 25, 2018) - Cake Boss’s Buddy Valastro announces Kareem “Mr. Bake” Queeman winner of his newest TV series ‘Bake It Like Buddy’ which aired November 17 on Discovery Family.
Currently, the title holder of America’s Best Baker DC, Mr. Bake and his cousin Teresa Brock competed on the Topsy Turvy Thanksgiving Cakes episode in February. The challenge put the duo head-to-head with another family in a bake-off at the historic Carlo’s Bakery with the Cake Boss himself and two of his own family members. With the pressure on and with the help of his cousin, Mr. Bake successfully designed a three-tiered, topsy-turvy Thanksgiving-themed cake made of two flavors: sweet potato and chocolate in only four hours.
After passing the initial taste test but still with much anticipation, Mr. Bake received the final seal of approval. “That sweet potato cake was one of the best cakes I ever ate in my life! ” said Valastro just after asking for the recipe.
Dedicating his work to matriarchs in his family that has passed on, Mr. Bake credits his aunt as the inspiration for the cake that he ate growing up in Harlem during the holidays. This season, Mr. Bake will host a series of events featuring his signature cake and other flavor profiles.
