FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WASHINGTON (June 5, 2023) - 2023 marks the 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop and “Rapper’s Delight” superstar, Master Gee opens up about this pivotal milestone at this year’s 2nd Annual Black Golfers’ Weekend.
The fusion of golf and Hip Hop has taken the golf world by storm and for the past 25 years have been an unlikely but powerful duo.
“For me, music and golf go hand in hand. I’m on the golf course a lot so I’m very honored to celebrate 50 years of Hip Hop on the greens and really look forward to supporting a worthy cause,” says Master Gee.
Black Golfers’ Weekend Inc supports Bridging The Gap Golf, a youth initiative that provides access, education and resources for African American youth. Proceeds from the Weekend will go to benefit the youth swing clinic and Youth Entrepreneurship Project that will provide funding to new and aspiring business owners.
The intersection of golf and Hip Hop is also encouraging inclusivity and diversity in the sport. It’s breaking down barriers and welcoming people who may have felt excluded from traditional golf culture before.
